About the Race
Note that this race IS NOT at the same location as the June 18th Winsted Woods race.

Preriding: The course will be marked out for preriding on Saturday, August 26th, mid day.

The course length is 4 miles per lap. Race through over 72 acres of Winsted Woods. This is a is a brand new course just designed this year.

This is the final Connecticut Mountain Bike Challenge Series race.
Please NOTE that
www.goodtiming.com will be servicing this race to provide you with quick, accurate, and detailed race day timing and scoring.
- Final Series Points Standings will be calculated and the Series Awards Ceremony will take place at this race.
- Series awards will be plaques given to the top three placers in each series points category.
- One Spinergy SPOX mountain bike wheel set will be awarded as an additional series prize to one lucky person in the top 3 of his/her overall series points category. One wheelset total will be given away.
- You must be present at the awards presentation to claim your award or have someone represent you there.


Entry Fees Preregistration is advised and makes life a little nicer for everyone on race day.

Children Free for ages 5-8 or 9-11
First Timer $15 if registration is postmarked or handed in by 8/17/2000 (includes one day NORBA license )
$20 if registration is postmarked or handed in after 8/17/2000 (includes one day NORBA license )
Junior; Beginner; Sport; Expert; Semi-Pro; Pro $25 if registration is postmarked or handed in by 8/17/2000
$30 if registration is postmarked or handed in by 8/17/2000

Schedule of Events Note: This series is using the new Junior class as acknowledged by NORBA .
The Junior groups will be:
Junior Men (01-10), (11-12), (13-14), (15-16), (17-18); Junior Women (01-18); - these are Beginner/Sport level categories
Junior Men (JuniorX); Junior Women (JuniorX); - these are Expert level categories
The Junior class will be for racers of age 18 or less who want to race for Series Points and have race results be eligible for NORBA national ranking (just as in Beginner, Sport, Expert, Semi-Pro, and Pro categories).
NORBA no longer acknowledges Beginner (1-18), Sport (1-18), or Expert (1-18) groups for rankings.

8:00 AM Registration opens & Preride (class registration closes 30 minutes before each race)

8:30 AM Children's races begin - NOT for Series Points.
Junior Men (1-10) race begins - this group races for Series Points.

9:00 AM First Timer races begin - NOT for Series Points.
Junior Men (11-12), Junior Women (1-18) - these groups race for Series Points.
9:00 AM Beginner races begin - these groups race for Series Points.
Junior Men (13-14), Junior Men (15-16) - these groups race for Series Points.
10:30 AM Sport races begin - these groups race for Series Points.
Junior Men (17-18) - this group races for Series Points.
1:00 PM Expert races begin - these groups race for Series Points.
Junior Men (JuniorX); Junior Women (JuniorX) - these groups race for Series Points.
1:00 PM Semi-Pro and Pro races begin - these groups race for Series Points.
? PM All Series awards given ½ hour after the end of Pro and Expert races

Directions Note that this race IS NOT at the same location as the June 18th Winsted Woods race.
  RT 8 north to end; Take a right onto RT 44;
Directions from Rt 44 in Winsted: Follow Rt 44 To Bridge St (coming from the West take a left; from the East go right), a few hundred feet up go right onto Prospect St.; 100 yds up go left onto Pratt St.; follow Pratt St. to Batcheller School. Be ready to ride!
