About the Race
New to the Connecticut Mountain Bike Challenge Series. The course at Channel 3 Country Camp has an exciting four year history of mountain bike racing. The course consists of technical single track, fast fire roads and thrilling descents, making the Mountain City Madness a challenging and rewarding event. The course is closed at all times other than on race day!

Entry Fees Preregistration is advised and makes life a little nicer for all on race day.

Children Free for ages 5-8 or 9-11
First Timer $15 if registration is postmarked or handed in by 4/6/2000 (includes one day racing license )
$20 if registration is postmarked or handed in after 4/6/2000 (includes one day racing license )
Junior; Beginner; Sport; Expert; Semi-Pro; Pro $25 if registration is postmarked or handed in by 4/6/2000
$30 if registration is postmarked or handed in after 4/6/2000

Update: The series is offering the JuniorX class in addition to the regular Junior offerings. This will be an expert level race for racers 18 and under.
About the new NORBA Junior Class - Why Juniors?

Schedule of Events Note: This series is using the new Junior class as acknowledged by NORBA .
Junior groups will be: Junior Men (01-10), (11-12), (13-14), (15-16), (17-18); Junior Men (JuniorX); Junior Women (01-18); Junior Women (JuniorX);
The Junior class will be for racers of age 18 or less who want to race for Series Points and have race results be eligible for NORBA national ranking (just as in Beginner, Sport, Expert, Semi-Pro, and Pro categories).
NORBA no longer acknowledges Beginner (1-18), Sport (1-18), or Expert (1-18) groups for rankings.

7:00 AM Course opens for inspection
7:30 AM Registration opens (class registration closes 30 minutes before each race)
9:00 AM Junior Men (11-12) - this category races for Series Points; First Timer race - not for Series Points;
10:00 AM Junior Men (13-14); Junior Women (1-18); Beginner races begin - these categories race for Series Points
11:30 AM Junior Men (1-10) - this category races for Series Points; Children's race begins - not for Series Points
12:00 PM Junior (15-16), (17-18); Sport races begin - these categories race for Series Points
2:00 PM Junior (JuniorX); Expert; Semi-Pro; and Pro races begin; - these categories race for Series Points

Prizes
$3000 minimum cash and merchandise prizes will be awarded - all categories are awarded prizes

Directions  
From Hartford: I-84 to 384. Follow I-384 to end, bear right and follow Rt. 6 for ~4 miles. Turn left on Hendee Rd. First left onto Hutchinson Rd. First right onto Times Farm Rd. Channel 3 Country Camp is at the end of road.
